Life as a Web Designer

When people think of web designers, they generally think of a person who designs webpages. Well, this is true in a sense, however, a web designer does so much more than that. Being a web designer is not as easy as people might think it is. There are so many skills that one must have. Some skills are coming up with creative content, having the ability to use Photoshop and Java, being able to work with HTML and XTML along with other various Internet languages, making sure that the SEO is right and being familiar with shopping cart software.
Not only do web designers need these and other important skills, but they also need to be able to stay up with the current trends and design their webpages accordingly. This can be simple if working with a client who has specific requirements, however, that is not always the case. Many clients just do not know what they want and leave that part up to you to come up with a webpage or webpages that are designed to attract customers. This is not always an easy job, especially when you have to decide what to include. For example, for Enigin (a client) I had to decide whether to include an enigin twitter button or not. The problem with me making the decision is that if the client doesn’t like it, I’ve already commited to it.
Although in some cases a college degree is not necessary to become a web designer, having taken a class in art and design is definitely a must. Also having the knowledge of what tools and software are used in the creation of webpages is also vital.
Being a web designer is certainly a fun job in my opinion. I have a very artistic background to begin with, so this job came naturally to me.I have just gone over the last of the text to go on the neck lift surgery area. I’m more at ease because it’s a great deal simpler since I took out all of the excess padding.
